Winter Songs Playlist

So we met on a cold December night for listening and discussing winter songs. A lot of them are sad with winter being used as a metaphor for loneliness, being heartbroken or death. There is little joy in winter amongst musicians it seems.

Anyway, here is the list. Where there is a link you can click on the link and it will take you to a youtube video. Not all of these songs have a video available.

As a reminder, the next meeting is January 20, 2009. I’m looking forward to this one. Your mission is to bring in the five best songs you heard for the first time in 2008. It could be a really good song from an otherwise bad record. It could be a great song from a great record. It could be a song that may not be one of your top 5, but because the album from which it came from is so solid you want to play it. It could be because it’s from a band that you were happy to discover this year. Whatever, just bring it.
